Copper alloy gilt coin. Plated South Ferriby uninscribed stater of the Corieltauvi, ABC no. 1743, Van Arsdell 811-2; Haselgrove Period 2 Phase 6, issue of 50-20 BC. The finder considers it more likely that the coin is debased gold with alloy content revealed by its partial melting on the obverse. This reporter considers the appearance of dull metal below plating at a chip on the edge to ally this piece with plated issues.
