The brooch is represented by the head and upper bow only. The brooch employed a spring mechanism, secured by a single pierced lug. The head is oval (14.3x10.3mm) and carries the remnants of cast decoration, consisting of grooved scrolls. Beneath the head, the surface is lost. The upper bow has an oval section, and a rounded thickening of the bow is likely to be the remnants of an acanthus button.
