<full>Incomplete copper alloy end&#45;looped mortar from a cosmetic set of early Roman date, probably from the 1st or 2nd century AD. Little of the surface survives on the mortar, and no decoration is evident. The end loop is complete and integral, and is positioned beneath the bow. The loop has a circular to oval section, and is thinnest at the point opposite the bow. The groove is now U&#45;shaped and shallow (1.5mm).</full>
