Terminal of a post medieval cast lead alloy (pewter) spoon handle of late 17th century date. Only the terminal of the flat handle remains, the rest is lost to an old break. The terminal is in the tri-lobed trifid style with a central more projecting lobe flanked by smaller ones. It is decorated on the front with a raise cast floral and foliate disn with a central flower flanked by C-shapes with curled in ends and with a possible crown in the projecting central lobe, the back is plain. The piece is 31.4mm long, 28.7mm wide and 2.4mm thick; it weighs 9.87 grams.
This style of spoon handle terminal first appeared soon after 1660 and went out of fashion by c. 1700 (Homer 1975: 43).
