A complete Prehistoric flint fabricator of possible Mesolithic date (c. 7000 BC-c. 4000 BC)
This implement is sub-rectangular in plan and roughly pentagonal in cross-section. It has been knapped overall on the dorsal and ventral faces and there is no cortex.
It varies in colour from dark orange brown to buff. The darker areas are shinier and there is no indication of wear or use. Each edge is battered. However, this was probably created during its manufacture.
Length: 80.4mm; width: 22.8mm; thickness: 15.0mm. Weight: 31.02g.
Fabricators were used during the Mesolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Age periods.
