A complete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy openwork mount (c. 1700-c. 1900).
This mount is sub-triangular in plan with symmetrical moulded decoration at the front and is flat at the rear. The decoration consists of a trio of stylised fish or dolphins with the sea below. All three fish have their tails at the top and heads at the bottom and the details are well defined but slightly worn. The central fish is vertical and the two flanking fishes have curved bodies with their heads turned outwards from the centre. At each side of the curving bodies there is a sub-rectangular opening. There are two smaller circular openings at the top.
The rear face which is flat but undulating has an integral rivet at each corner. These are circular in cross-section.
This mount has a shiny green patina at the front with some wear on the high points. At the rear it is largely matt green.
