Medieval to Post Medieval lead alloy or lead damaged cast uniface token. Though damaged, stylistically it appears to be a debased long cross coin, with the cross visible on the obverse. The reverse is plain and undecorated. Lead 'long cross' tokens are difficult to date accurately as they had a variety of uses and were made locally. Historically cross and pellet designs were thought to be contemporary with the similar Medieval coin designs. However recent publication of moulds and double faced tokens which combine Post Medieval initial style designs with cross and pellets suggest they continued into the Post Medieval period. Therefore the token could date to anytime between c1247 and c1750 AD, but in this case the likelihood is that it is late medieval.
The length is 18mm, width 15mm, and the weight 2.86g.
