An incomplete cast copper alloy furniture fitting/ handle, dating to the 17th/ 18th century between AD c. 1650 - 1750. The furniture fitting/ handle is tear drop shaped with a narrow neck at the top and a single lobed protrusion at the bottom of the artefact. The top of the handle is broken but there are two raised linear ridges running across its width directly underneath. There is no other decoration on the artefact and the back is hollow. Overall, the furniture handle is in a worn and corroded condition with some areas of bronze disease on the back and a patchy brown patina. Similar examples are illustrated in Bailey, G, 2001, 'Detector Finds 2', page 17, ref nos 16, 19 & 23.
