A complete copper alloy thimble of late post-medieval date. The thimble is circular in cross-section, tapering towards the flat top. The thimble is decorated with regular sub-circular pits in concentric rings from the crown to mid-way along the sides. Three concentric rings of pellets are present between the end of the pits and the base.
The metal has a dark blackish-brown patina and is worn. The thimble is 18mm in height, 13.9mm in diameter, 0.6mm thick and weighs 2.4g.
