An incomplete copper-alloy composite buckle of Medieval date. It is missing the pin and the front and back plates due to old breaks, now worn.
The frame is oval in form, triangular in section with an expanded triangular outer edge. Extending from the bar end are two integrally cast triangular forked spacers. These are separated at the frame end by a single central circular pin hole.
This buckle measures 45.15mm in length, 24.15mm in width, 2.44mm in thickness, 5.18g in weight.
There is a similar example from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, p. 79 no. 322).
