A complete and damaged post-Medieval cast copper-alloy asymmetrical double-looped buckle with chape (c. 1575-c. 1700).
One loop is rectangular and the other loop is 'D'-shaped. The chape has a hooked end which is fused to the frame. The tapering pin is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear.
Length: 24.4mm; width: 18.6mm; thickness: 6.1mm. Weight: 4.53g.
Similar buckles have been published and dated c. 1575-1700 AD (Whitehead 1996: 92-93).
