A Roman Republican silver plated denarius struck by Iunius Brutus Albinus in Rome, 48 BC (Reece period 1). The reverse depicts two hands clasped around a caduceus with the legend ALBINVS·BRVTI·F
The coin is worn with a large hole punched through centre exposing the copper alloy core. This is a contemporary plated forgery.
