A complete cast copper alloy crotal bell dating to the post-medieval period. The crotal bell is a small example and made in one piece with a pronounced girth seam. The bell has a large and crudely attached seperate square suspension loop and quite large sounding holes on the base. Only the lower hemisphere is decorated with the popular 'sunburst' design. There no makers' or foundary marks on the bell. This type of bell dates from the 17th to 18th century AD.
