An incomplete copper-alloy chatelaine plate type Roman brooch, possibly of the 2nd century. The brooch has a rectangular body decorated with two rows of triangular cells. Traces of red and yellow/brown enamel survive intermittently. An incomplete arch of triangular cells is located above the body. Two lugs extend at the base of the body, one on either side. These would have held a bar, from which implements would have been hung. On the reverse is a catchplate at the top, and a lug below. Similar to SF-269A81.
