A complete Medieval silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307), minted at Berwick upon Tweed. Initial mark: cross pattée. Possibly Class 2, 1297-1298 (North 1991: 39, ref: 1073).

Obverse: [ ]NGL[ ]S hYB; Crowned bust facing with a trifoliate crown and wedged drapery, pearl ornaments

Reverse: VILL/AB[ ]/[ ]/[ ]CI; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant

Diameter: 17.7mm. Weight: 0.96g. DA=12:2-3.
