A fragment of a post-Medieval cast copper-alloy sub-rectangular shoe or knee buckle (c. 1720-c. 1790).

This buckle fragment is convex at the front and flat at the rear. It is one outer edge and a small portion of the side. The outer edge is stepped on the upper surface.

This buckle has a shiny silvery green patina and each break is old.

Length: 19.85mm; width: 37.56mm; thickness: 2.31mm. Weight: 6.07g.

A similar buckle has been published and dated c. 1720-c. 1790 AD (Whitehead 1996: 111. ref: 709).
