An incomplete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy trapezoidal buckle frame (c. 1660-c. 1720).
The pin and chape are missing.
This frame is moulded at the front and flat at the rear.
In plan, it is has rounded corners and each outer edge is straight. The sides are straight and similar. At the centre of each side is a transverse ridge situated over the spindle hole. This ridge is flanked by a smaller ridge at either side. The bar is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear.
This frame is largely reddish brown with a fragment of iron attached to one end of the bar. There are patches of black lacquer on both faces.

No direct parallel found. However, see buckle published and dated c.1660-1720 AD (Whitehead 1996: 99, ref: 624).
