A rim sherd of a find sand-tempered cooking pot with stamped decoration, probably dating to between AD 1275-1375. Probably Ringmer ware. The flat outer decorated edge of the rim is approximately 15.8 mm thick and has a raised outer circumferential band with incised stamped sub-triangular shapes, four remaining completely and a fragment of a fifth visible near one surface break. The material is of a light pink-orange material with a light grey core.
The sherd measures 41.4mm long, 15.3.mm wide on top of rim. It has a height of 21.6mm and weighs 11.87g. The vessel would have had an approximate outer diameter of 18 cm and an internal diameter of 15 cm.
