The thimble has been made from a single skin of copper alloy. It is uncertain the method of manufacture. The thimble is 18.4mm tall, and 22.3mm wide. A diameter cannot be given as the thimble has been squashed.

The indentations are square in plan, and have been handmade. They have been placed in rows. The base of the thimble has been decorated with a row of incised hearts.

The thimble is probably dated to the 15th to 16th centuries. Holmes described the dating of these thimbles in relation to their decoration.
