A complete Roman copper-alloy mount or stud (c. AD 43-c. AD 200).
This mount is convex at the front and excepting the rivet, is concave at the rear. It is rectangular in plan and has two parallel transverse ridges at the front. Each end is flat. At the rear a central integral rivet has a shank which is circular in cross-section. The end of the rivet is burred over.
The mount is green with traces of a darker green patina. It is slightly worn at the front.
