A medieval cast copper-alloy bar mount in the form of a central circular element flanked by two small sub-rectangular outer ends. The centre and end elements are domed with concave backs and convex fronts, the end elements far less exaggerated. The ends each have a pierced hole through though the centre which holds a separate copper-alloy rivet; the holes are recessed on the lower surface. The separate rivets are circular in cross-section and flush with the front of the mount while projecting slightly from the back. The front is decorated with five transverse incised lines across the central section. There are multiple shorter, finer, vertical incised lines crossing the transverse ones across the four ridges thus created.
This form of belt mount was very popular in the medieval period and was in use from at least AD 1150-1450 (Egan and Pritchard 1991, 26, 214). This object now has a variable brown colour.
