A complete Medieval to Post Medieval cast lead alloy sub-circular uniface token of Powell Type 9. The token is decorated on one face with a raised grid pattern; the other face is undecorated. The token measures 17.14 mm diameter at the widest point and is 1.99 mm thick and weighs 3.12 grams.
Tokens had a wide variety of uses and were easy to manufacture; they are therefore difficult to date specifically outside of secure archaeological contexts. Tokens with simplistic designs had considerable longevity and could date from c. 1250-1800 AD.
