Post-medieval copper alloy button or cloak fastener, consisting of a solid circular plano-convex head and an integral drilled loop. In the centre rather worn engraved foliar motifs include some punched annulets and are surrounded by an engraved circle. This in turn is encircled by pairs of punched arcs and around the edge there is a circle of closely spaced punched annulets. Diameter 27.2mm. Thickness of head 7mm. Length (i.e. thickness + loop) 12.5mm. Weight 15.67g. Cf. Read 2005, nos. 130-1. 17th century.
