Complete but worn copper-alloy and enamel heraldic horse harness pendant of medieval date. The pendant is flat and shield-shaped with a suspension loop along the top edge of the shield. The shield is plain on the reverse and carries a coat of arms design on the front consisting of a quartered shield with a red lion rampant in the top-right quarter and probably the bottom left quarter, the design of the remaining two quarters is not clear. The coat of arms has not been identified as belonging to any particular family at this time. Dated c.1200-1400.
