A Late Iron Age to Early Roman (AD 20-100) copper alloy La Tène III Nauheim Derivative type brooch.
The head (7.9x6.3mm) consists of three complete coils where the pin extends measuring 35.2mm long. From the head, a sub-oval in section, narrow bow bends out in a curve out before straightening to a triangular foot. The catchplate (8.8x5.3mm) is sub-triangular in plan and flat in section and has a small curve to where the pin sits. On the upper surface of the bow there are two rows of small diagonal slashes.
This artefact has a dark green colour and has small patches of light green patina. Similar examples are depicted in Hattatt (2000: 290, fig. 149, no. 243).
