Roman copper alloy bow and fantail brooch (Collingwood Group X). Very similar to Hattatt's Visual Catalogue type 816 (fig 174, page 315). The suspension loop is intact as is the bow. The brooch is missing its hinged pin, the lip of the catch plate, and the enamel infill from the fan. Dates to between c50 and c150 AD.
The length is 40mm, the width is 16mm, the thickness 10mm, and the weight is 5.88g.
