A copper alloy suspension mount for a horse harness pendant. The mount comprises a circular plate with openwork decoration. At the base projecting downwards are two pierced lugs housing a short copper alloy bar (a looped pendant would have attached to this bar). The lugs are oval in shape with circular holes. The bar has a circular cross section. The openwork decoration is asymmetrical and comprises ten apertures of varying irregular and sub-circular shapes and sizes. There are more apertures at one side of the plate and it is possible that the reserve of metal this creates may be a stylized lion rampant ( see database record DENO-C69B56). At the back of the mount is the stub of a single, circular sectioned integral rivet. This is placed off-centre behind the area with fewer openwork apertures.
