A copper alloy, Post-Medieval spinning top. The artefact has a spike (on which it spins), a spinner (the part you hold to spin it) and a disc, between the two. The object looks gold because of the affects of wear, chemicals in the soil and cleaning. The length of this artefact has been measured from the end you hold to the point on which the artefact spins. The diameter has been measured across the disc.
