Roman Polden Hill type bow brooch. Short semi-cylindrical arms denuded by corrosion, fragment of iron spring remains. Slightly tapering bow decorated half its length with a triple median rib. Near the top of the head the rib is interrupted by a pair of horizontal grooves before continuing a short length over the curve of the head of the bow. The top of the head of the bow has a small recess to either side of the median rib. Typical semi-circular mouldings to either side of the head. The bow is plano-convex in section and the decoration terminates halfway with a small stud, below this the bow is plain. The catchplate and foot is missing.
