A complete cast copper alloy button of post-medieval date. The button is circular in plan with a thin D-shaped section and is decorated on the upper surface with a raised central pellet and circumferential border from which eight raised arms radiate to the outer edge. A circular wire shank extends centrally from the reverse and appears to be cast integrally.
The metal has a dark blackish-brown patina and is worn. The button is 10.9mm in diameter, 4.1mm thick including shank and weighs 0.6g.
