A silver hammered short cross penny of Medieval date, AD1180-1247. This is probably a coin of Richard I, AD1189-1199 or possibly from the early part of John's reign, AD1199-1216. Obverse shows a forward facing crowned bust with sceptre. Obverse legend reads hENRICVS R/EX. Reverse shows voided short cross with quatrefoil per quarter. Reverse legend reads +GOLDWIN.ON.CA . Class 3-5c (ADc.1190-c.1208/9), probably narrowed to class 4 (ADc.1194-1204/05) due to the the hair shown on the obverse as curls without pellets and pellets for the beard instead of curls and possibly class 4c if the 'S' on the obverse is reversed.
Weight is 1.39g, diameter is 19.17mm, thickness is 0.75mm.
