A complete struck/hammered copper alloy jetton of Charles V of France (AD 1364 to AD 1380) or possibly Charles VI of France (1380-1422), struck as one of the last of the Shield of France Ancient jettons, during the early AD 1380s.

The jetton consists of a Shield of France Ancient jetton, issued throughout the 15th Century.

The obverse consists of a Shield of France Ancient bearing 3 complete Lys or Lis, and the lower half of a fourth, surmounted by a cournelle. The obverse inscription is unclear. The reverse probably depicts a triple stranded cross fleuretty in a tressure. The reverse inscription reads is unclear.

The jetton is a mid to dark green colour, with an even patchy surface patina.

It has a diameter of 22.71 mm and 1.04 mm thick. It weighs 2.0 grams.

This jetton is similar to those published as #433 and #434 by Mitchiner (1988, p172), and has been dated to the early 1380s, possibly issued by Charles VI of France.
