A late medieval gold finger-ring, with a high bezel in the form of a cusped quatrefoil, set with a blue stone, probably a turquoise. The hoop which is of D-shaped section widens at the shoulders. The lower half of the hoop is undecorated; the shoulders are decorated with an incised foliate design. For a comparable ring, see TAR 2003, no 194.
The finger-ring probably dates from the late fourteenth to the fifteenth century.
Dimensions: maximum diameter of hoop 20mm, height including bezel 23 mm.
