A complete cast lead bag seal of modern date. The seal is circular in plan with a sub-rectangular cross section and is comprised of a single disc of metal which is perforated by two holes running across its diameter. The hole would have been for wire or textile ligatures which were used to secure a bag.
The obverse is stamped with the circumferential text Wm GUNSTONE & SONS LT and the reverse is stamped with SHEFFIELD is a straight line across the centre.
The metal is a dark reddish-brown colour and is worn. The seal is 19.4mm in diameter, 5.3mm thick and weighs 5.4g.
