{"recordID":"50938","finds":[{"created2":"2003 08 05","description":"Copper alloy ribbed bracelet fragment, possibly from a two piece bracelet of Middle \u00e2€“ Late Iron Age date. The bracelet has a D-shaped cross section and is decorated with wide raised bands separated by recesses containing thin bands. The underside is plain. One of the ends is expanded and is composed of two perforated lugs with a central opening. It would seem likely that this fragment contained a hinge in order to open the bracelet. The other end is corroded. The curvature on the fragment suggests an original diameter of circa 45mm, which is somewhat small for a bracelet.","notes":"Ribbed or beaded bracelets are known from both the Iron Age (e.g. Stead & Rigby, 1999) and Roman periods. The hinge mechanism is unusual, but is more reminiscent of Iron Age bracelets and armlets than Roman period examples.","old_findID":"NMGW-FD9FA1","id":"50938","objecttype":"Bracelet","classification":"Ribbed","subclass":null,"reuse":null,"created":"2003-08-05 17:28:02","broadperiod":"IRON AGE","updated":"2011-02-24 12:19:17","treasureID":null,"secwfstage":"4","secuid":"0013F2FDB1201D88","findofnote":null,"objecttypecert":"2","datefound1":"2003-04-01","datefound2":null,"createdBy":"47","curr_loc":null,"inscription":null,"reason":null,"subsequentAction":"Returned to finder"}],"record":[{"id":"50938","old_findID":"NMGW-FD9FA1","uniqueID":"0013F2FDB1201D88","objecttype":"Bracelet","classification":"Ribbed","subclass":null,"length":"38.9","height":null,"width":"8","thickness":"5.5","diameter":"45","quantity":"1","other_ref":null,"treasureID":null,"broadperiod":"IRON AGE","numdate1":null,"numdate2":null,"description":"Copper alloy ribbed bracelet fragment, possibly from a two piece bracelet of Middle \u00e2€“ Late Iron Age date.
