Umbonate copper alloy object, sub-rectangular in shape. The object has a central round umbo with a nipple in its centre; two incised lines in a diamond shape around the umbo; silvery-grey alloy with red spots; circular perforation below umbo (a later addition); damaged at top and bottom, perhaps where rivet attachments once were.
Notes:
Examined at Dartford Museum (17.9.1998). Dating highly conjectual. C Johns of the British Museum (letter dated 4/11/98) says: 'We don't see this one as Roman'.
