Post medieval cast copper alloy mount of 17th to 18th century date. The mount is in the form of a large three lobed end narrowing down to a short neck with a much smaller three lobed terminal at the other end. At both ends the lobes are emphasised by incised line. the front is slightly convex with rounded edges. The side lobes of the smaller terminal are worn and broken with old breaks. On the back, on the central lobe of each terminal, project integral rivets. Both rise from slightly raised rectangular platforms and oval in section. Both rivets are broken with only small, worn stubs remaining; one bends inwards at 90 degrees before the break. It is 31.2mm long, 30.1mm wide and 2.9mm thick excluding the rivets, 5.7mm including them; it weighs 7.26 grams.
