A base from a late Roman ceramic vessel, a colour-coated beaker, probably of the Nene Valley industry, c. 250-400.
The sherd consists of the circular base that expands upward and retains the very bottom of the vessel walls. The clay is a buff white colour with red and brown surface colouring/slip on the interior and exterior of the beaker.
