A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy composite three-piece button (c. 1600-c. 1700 AD).
This sheet button consists of a pair of hollow die-stamped hemispheres soldered together. The front is conical and the back is convex and has a central soldered wire loop/shank. There is a small patch of silvering on the back.
