A medieval finger-ring, the wire hoop slightly distorted, with an irregular semicircular bezel containing a dark red stone (probably a garnet).
The ring is gold and dates from the late twelfth or the thirteenth century. Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
