SHEARS

Unique ID: LON-A63816

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Half of a set of Medieval to Modern shears. One complete blade and arm survive, along with roughly half of the broader connecting loop. The shears are undecorated three pairs of double notches on the sides of the arm. The shears are covered in iron corrosion and part of the edge of the blade has chipped.

Shears are often undecorated or simply decorated and there shape changes little between the Medieval and Modern periods, therefore a broad 1200-1900 AD date is suggested.

Dimensions: length: 124.29 mm; width: 16.77 mm; thicness: 11.23 mm; weight 11.84g.
