Obverse description: Corieltauvian Apollo-Wreath
Reverse description: Celticised horse left, three pellets below tail
Reverse inscription: [VEP] CORF
Diameter: 19.7mm, Thickness: 2.4mm, Weight: 5.51gms.
Analysis kindly conducted by Paul Schmidt indicates that there is circa 20% silver in this coin, together with other metals as well as gold. This may have conferred a dark surface tint, though yellow metal shows at abraded points.
