A complete, cast copper alloy hooked tag dating from AD1550-1600. There is a rectangular attachment loop and an openwork body with scalloped edges which is pierced with four circular holes on each side. There is also a central V-shaped decoration containing a cross hatched diamond motif. The hook remains in place, but is slightly bent. The tag has a light green patina. It is 35.2mm long, 17.4mm wide and 2.7mm thick. It weighs 3.08gm.
A similar, but incomplete tag is illustrated in Egan, 2005, Material Culture in London in an Age of Transition, page 44, number 153. See also Read 2008 Page 104 plates 402-403.
