Proximal end of a knapped flint tool, probably a knife, possibly a scraper, probably of Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date. Made on a large, thick tertiary flake with prominent bulb on the ventral face and evidence of a previous large removal from the same direction on the dorsal face. Long, scalar, semi-abrupt retouch down both sides. Snap at distal end with chips or possibly some deliberate tidying retouch along lower edge. Mid-grey flint with paler mottling. 30.1mm long, 22.6mm wide, 7.1mm thick; it weighs 5.80 grams.
