An irregular fragment from a core which has been worked in several directions to produce small blades or microliths of late Mesolithic date (6500-3500 BC). The core is probably derived from a riverine pebble and a small area of outer cortex (10%) is present on one face. The fragment is heavily worn and the remains of at least one striking platform is present from which blades have been removed. There is no evidence of rejuvenation flakes or multi platform working. The core is a mid- grey colour with a slightly milky white coloured patina.

The core measures 26.0mm length, 23.9mm width is 10.9mm thick and weighs 6.53 grams
