An incomplete and misshapen post-Medieval cast copper alloy double-looped buckle (c. 1550-c. 1650 AD).
The pin is missing.
The frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear and has two identical oval loops. The bar is slightly narrowed, sub-triangular in cross-section (flat at the rear) and extends beyond the frame at each side to form small knops. Iron staining on the bar indicates that the pin may have been made of iron.
At the front of the frame, at each outer edge, there is a small moulding. The frame has active corrosion and traces of a black substance, probably lacquer.
39.81 x 28.53 x 3.13mm. Weight: 7.03g.
This buckle frame is corroded and in poor condition. It has active corrosion on the rear face.
