An incomplete copper-alloy Colchester derivative brooch, dating from the mid to late 1st/early 2nd century AD.

The wings are parallel-sided and of flat section. A perforated lug at the centre would have contained the now-missing axis bar. The top of the bow forms a right angle with the head, the latter of which has a second perforation, in which is contained a remnant of the external chord. The bow is of flattened-oval section, its depth being greater than its width. There is a gradual tapering towards the point of the break.

Dimensions: 23.7mm long, 15.1mm wide. Weight: 3.31g.

Class: Colchester derivative
