<description>
<full>Cast copper alloy bow brooch of uncertain type. This would appear to be the bow from a brooch which has been constructed to fit together in two parts. The head does not appear to be broken, but has two grooves, possibly to accommodate the wings and spring or hinge mechanism. The bow is slender and has been carefully decorated with a single column of raised square dots within a linear border. The cross section of the bow varies from flat at the foot to tear&#45;shaped above the catch plate to sub square near the head. The catch plate is damaged but would have carried a comparatively intricate openwork design.</full>
