This coin was found near to another coin; a Guinea of Queen Anne (see record: HESH-0E7527). They were reported as potential treasure / treasure trove by the finder. However, there was not enough evidence to suggest that these coins were deposisted together in the ground at the same time and that at the time of discovery they were not both more than 300 years old. As such they do not qualify as Treasure under the 1996 Act (see paragragh 7 of the Treasure Act Code of Practice) and do not qualify as Treasure Trove as they could not be proven to be a group deliberately hidden with the intention of recovery.
