A very worn fragment from a purse bar of Ward Perkins' Class A1. The bar has a central rounded block with an animal head on either side. The heads form the start of the mainly missing, side arms. Double-stranded lattice decoration, inlaid with niello, can be seen on the surviving arm. The two sides of the central block are decorated with an X and a W, both inlaid with niello. The surviving arm appears to be flat, which would be unusual for bars of Class A1.
